Due to a large number of store chains and the constant updating of prices and deals, it is difficult for shoppers to keep track of them and make better bargains. The client came to us with the idea of building a handy retail mobile app for people who want to save money and time when shopping. The Bestbasket app allows users to create a personalized shopping cart with the best prices and the shortest route.
Our client wanted to create a unique Android app for shopping that would let people spend less money and time on grocery shopping. It would help the user add needed products to the cart and create their own convenient route with the lowest prices. The app also required the development of an admin panel to update product and price information.
Our team has developed an optimal strategy for implementing the project, consisting of several components, which resulted in a successful digital product.
At this stage, our team created a use case diagram for more clarity, built a benchmark to improve the competitiveness of the product, and chose MVP as the first version to collect feedback. Given that the shopping mobile app Bestbasket has to involve several stages of interaction, we had to make the entire user journey intuitive and simple at each stage - from creating a cart and selecting products to setting up a route.
The user can search for needed products with the help of suggested categories and subcategories that are associated with store departments. Each item contains a name, a picture, a price range, and quantity/weight. By adding items to the cart, the user creates a list that is saved in the app and can be edited and shared. This allows the user to create basic lists with the products they buy most often, which saves time.
After selecting all the needed products, the user sets the start point and can optionally add stores for comparison. The system analyzes the prices and stores nearby and suggests 2 shopping routes: one store with the most optimal total cost or several stores with an even lower total cost. The app can include up to 5 stores in one route.
To avoid overloading users with unnecessary information, the user profile of Bestbasket consists only of personal info and saved money and time during usage of the app. Users can also add store loyalty cards to provide a discount and share their personal lists with friends or family members.
All data about each product is parsed from online shops of partner network at a given frequency. The admin panel includes all important features to fully manage the application functionality such as goods categories and subcategories, products, users, and stores.
Our team developed a top-notch shopping mobile app with stand-out features which help users get the shortest route to do grocery shopping at the lowest cost. The client is currently collecting feedback on the MVP version and expanding its partner network, which we facilitate and continue improving the app.
