Renting vehicles is a convenient way to get around cities. There are already several scooter-sharing companies in each developed city promoting ideas of fast, convenient and environmentally friendly urban mobility. They all compete for users' attention and differ in terms of functionality, cost of travel, user experience, etc.
Our client Eleven came to us with the idea of building a modern and intuitive mobile app that would provide riders with all the necessary information about e-scooters and make their riding experience both safe and easy.
Our team was tasked with creating a handy and easy-to-use app for scooter rental for iOS and Android that would let users find a serviceable e-scooter near them, quickly start a ride, and pay directly in the app. Our client also needed an app for Repairers to simplify the workflow and the development of the scooters ‘brain’ and its integration with the app.
Our team delved into the project details, the scope of tasks and requirements, and built an effective multi-step strategy to achieve the goals and develop a high-competitive scooter sharing app.

We made the entire user journey clear and intuitive. The application doesn’t require a lot of personal data to facilitate the interaction with the app for scooter rental and quickly get a ride started. After downloading the Eleven app, the user can easily sign up via mobile phone and confirmation code. Users can add and edit their name, surname, and e-mail later in the User Profile.
The Main screen of the electric scooter sharing app displays the map with the scooters available for use and booking nearby, as well as the user's location. Here the user can see the scooter cards, their status, the cost of the ride, and the charge level. Moreover, the map contains zones where parking is allowed and those where it is prohibited. To provide users with only up-to-date information, we’ve added an update button on the main screen to see changes taking place.
To start a ride, users need to choose a nearby scooter on the map and scan the QR code on the scooter handlebar. Riders have the option to book scooters in advance, so they are not visible to other users. In addition, the app allows users to book up to 5 scooters from one account and create a group ride for several people.
While riding, users can pause a ride for up to 60 minutes. During this time, the rate changes and the scooter goes into reserved mode, i.e. it is not available to other users.
The app allows users to end a ride with a single tap and then view its details: the number of scooters, duration and cost of the ride. All information about completed rides can be found in the ride history.
The app requires riders to add card details to make their first ride. The user can replace it with another one at any time. The payments can also be made with ApplePay or a mobile account. The electric scooter sharing app enables users to track their current balance, top it up, or do so automatically.
Electric scooter rental app Eleven gives users a chance to get and activate vouchers for free rides. This screen contains information about active and inactive vouchers: number of free starts, promo codes, and expiry date. To ensure that users remember about available vouchers, we used an in-app notification on the Main screen to remind them that vouchers are about to expire.
These users are responsible for scooter maintenance. The main screen displays all scooters, their technical condition, and their charge level, as well as nearby repair stations. To perform scooter maintenance, the user needs to select the scooter and put it into repair mode so that it is no longer visible to Riders.
Our team has designed and developed a user-friendly and feature-rich scooter rental software. The Eleven app is now live on both iOS and Android.
The number of users reached 300.000 and continues to grow, so does the geography of the app. The company has raised investments and plans on expanding to more countries and cities. The app functionality and design is constantly updated according to market trends and user demands.
